A lot of you (and by a lot I mean just @sahaarkasiri) have been requesting a post on my favourite face masks. Face masks aren't just a great way to relax, but they are also great at delivering amazing ingredients and nutrients to your skin.

Blue Tansy AHA + BHA Resurfacing Clarity Mask by Herbivore ($46)

I included this mask in my January Favourites. I love this mask because it can target multiple concerns: acne, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, uneven texture, and loss of firmness. The Blue Tansy mask uses AHAs and BHAs which are chemical exfoliants that remove debris and dead  skin cells from the top layer of your skin to reveal a brighter complexion and unclog your pores. Unlike physical exfoliators, this mask does not have any beads or rough grains that can irritate and damage the skin.

Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask by Fresh ($112)

No, I did not spend $112 on a face mask. I've been using a deluxe sample from Sephora, haha! If your skin is on the drier side or if you experience dullness or a loss of firmness, this mask will instantly brighten and tighten your skin while keeping it hydrated. Because I only have a mini version of this mask, I only use it if I've had a late or rough night. I use it before going to bed and when I wake up, my skin always feels fresh and awake.

Recovery Face Mask by Bio-Cell from The Face Shop ($4)

This is one of my favourite sheet masks and at $4, you can't go wrong. If at any point you've damaged your skin (i.e. you popped a pimple, scratched your face a little too hard, or cut yourself shaving), this mask can help speed up the healing process. This mask is formulated with madecassoside which helps strengthen and soothe damaged or irritated skin. This mask is also great if you have dry skin as it delivers a lot of hydration.

Creamy Face Scrub by Frank and Body ($22)

This mask/scrub is formulated with coffee, white clay, and rosehip, coconut, almond, and grapeseed oils. White clay helps detoxify, coffee brightens and energizes, and the oils help nourish and soothe the skin, preventing the other ingredients from stripping your skin of its natural moisture. This is a super easy and quick mask to use. Frank and Body recommends waiting two minutes after you apply it, and then use warm water and circular hand motions to rinse off and gently exfoliate. I don't use this mask as much anymore since I have been using the Blue Tansy mask from Herbivore, but I do love it! My only word of caution is that with physical exfoliators, be very gentle because you don't want to aggravate your skin.

Mask of Magnaminty by Lush ($15)

Similar to Frank and Body's Creamy Face Scrub, you use this as a mask and then exfoliate as you rinse it off. This is an amazing mask that specifically targets breakouts and helps keep acne at bay. Not only does it help unclog your pores, but the vanilla and honey ingredients also combat redness and inflammation to instantly improve the overall appearance of your skin!
